The only time the U.S. went five years without war (1935-40) was during the isolationist period of the Great Depression.

@RandomForest Now you're moving the goal posts. "At war" and "time of peace" aren't the same thing. See the cold war as an example.
And that tells me you're using the broadest definition of conflict possible, then trying to apply that to war. Which means you're chasing a specific outcome and you'll reject whatever timeline I give you.
But even by those standards, using even tensions between two fighter planes over a random ocean, 1923 to 1939. No matter how anyone tries to spin it, 5 years consecutive is factually wrong.
