So the Chinese police shot a girl's eye out in the Hong Kong airport.

A paramedic no less. This really is shaping up to be another massacre.

I hate to admit it, but what about that Chicago officer who shot that one kid 16 times and ended up in jail for excessive force? The kid he shot had only a clasp knife. He put four or five bullets in him, and then got out of the patrol car, his partner following him, and he started pumping the remainder of the gun's load in the kid - even though his partner tried to stop him by saying, "No, don't!"

The kid was down after two or three bullets. Wasn't it enough to "wing" him and keep him alive long enough to put the bracelets on him and put him in jail?

All this was caught on the squadrol's camera. It was plain to see the extra shots weren't necessary. The jury didn't take long to convict him, either.

@MaryJanine Oh I know Al about that, I'm from Chicago and the city was gripped in a fervor over that case for months. Laquan McDonald. And the officer, Jason Van Dyke, is still graffitied in effigy all over the place with X's over his eyes.

@BlueMetalChick Another Chicagoan. But I didn't see or hear anything about the effigy postings. Where are these sort of hangings?

@MaryJanine Here in Humboldt Park there's a lot of them, I noticed them on the back of the library, the Humboldt armory, and Roeser's Bakery in particular.

@BlueMetalChick You're the only Chicagoan I know who seems to know about these effigy hangings. I have been in Norwood Park,Portage Park, and Jefferson Park, since the sentencing, and have not seen any of these things. Is the news media not aware?

@MaryJanine Maybe it's just over here. It might be the same graffiti artist. They were all Sangra style so I think perhaps it's just one tagger in Humboldt who has done it on buildings.
