Warning TMI

So I just made my first appointment for the doctor in years and the lady asked if I wanted a wellness check AND a pap smear. I am not ready for that pap smear, I told her to hold off on that. I heard it hurt like hell.😭

Can't hold off on that stuff though! It may hurt but its necessary to know if you healthy or not.

I think they make you sit on a metal or glass slide and move forward until it smears on.

I don't blame you. I wouldn't want someone doing that to me 😐 Mind you, if it saves you from cervical cancer then it's maybe worth it.

@easterniowegin Better to endure an annual prostate exam and know that there might be something happening. I had a cancer scare a few years ago. Yes, the resulting biopsy was VERY painful, but the piece of mind to know it wasn't cancerous was worth it.

They are not the most comfortable but they are important. I used to schedule all the shitty woman stuff on the same morning and take the day off. After the yearly violations I would go get pampered...mani, pedi, massage...the works!

They can hurt but as someone who knows a woman that those sort of checks helped find cervical cancer in. I have to encourage you to choose the discomfort over the risk. It is over quickly & it doesn’t have to be done frequently. Keep yourself healthy, be smart & preventative, don’t allow something as awful as cancer slip by unnoticed because of a worry of momentary pain. ❤️
