Why would someone comment on your post 'blocked' before blocking you?

Is it an desperate attempt to be relevant or make an impact on the person?

I believe that comments on posts made before blocking remain on the post for others to see, whereas just blocking you would be an invisible action that would not have that public smack in the face sort of impact.
