I'd like to give you hope and encouragement, but the reality is that most people aren't willing to give you that care and attention you need.

People avoid weak links. It's why we feel bad for bullied kids, but don't associate with them. People will feel sorry for homeless people, but do nothing to help. Same with us that are suffering with mental illness or emotional neglect. People will empathize, but not dedicate much effort to our wellness.

It's a product of evolution, I think. Everything is kinda geared for survival, and having to dedicate time and resources on one person slows the whole tribe down a little. It puts them in jeopardy, so they'd rather ignore it

I'm in the same exact boat. Even the friends I would gain that I was upfront about my issues with stopped caring after a while. People in general would rather live a happy lie than an uncomfortable truth. And we wonder why suicides, overdoses, and mass shootings are a thing. We're the problem

So yeah, that's my spiel. I'm killing myself once my money runs out, so I've already made peace with the arrangement. Hopefully you fare better than me

@SW-User For curiosity's sake, what's so amazing about it to you?

@TinyViolins Before you start chalking off social constructs to theoretical hominid philosophy you might ask yourself a question.

Exactly how generous is suicide?

Because last I checked it was pretty goddam selfish. Pot can the kettle be called black.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@SteelHands How generous is having kids in this modern age? You're just taking extra resources for yourself and creating a burden on everyone involved in that kid's life.

We're still evolutionarily compelled towards it
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@TinyViolins OKAY. YOU WANT TO DEBATE. Everybody step back while I tear mr shellfish's argument apart.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@SteelHands No one asked you to join this conversation. You're doing all of this on your own accord. But go ahead, waste your time. It'll amuse me
SteelHands · 61-69, M
In the 60s they said that by 2000 the population of the word would quadruple from 1.7 billion to 6.8.

Well it took a little longer that's not as bad.

They also said that food would be so scarce that 75% of the world would be looking down both barrels of a starvation and disease cataclysm.

Well food production went up 700%

Thanks to crop science and improved harvest yeilds.

They also said that we'd be freezing from bringing on another ice age from smog blocking out the sun's heat.

You dare to tell me that I don't have a duty to reproduce?

Fuck you. You and the rest of your sage eugenics lying clock shuckers that don't do shit but yak yak yak.

Suck my ass.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@SteelHands I don't see where the generosity in your argument is
SteelHands · 61-69, M
I'm not looking to amuse or abuse.

You consider people that live and raise their families selfish. why?

Is it because your worldview is that there's just too many people?

So then this causes them to "evolve" in a way that makes you able to ascertain every human beings motives and life worth?

How do you not see the error in your thinking?
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@SteelHands I said none of that. Those arguments are just in your head

You brought up generosity, so I'm sticking to that point. Evolution isn't concerned with generosity. Where's the generosity in introducing unnecessary people into the world?
SteelHands · 61-69, M
I'm writing on a community collaborative website.

Apparently you think that if someone is taking the time to write a reply that it needs to suck up to someone for it to be charitable.

I guess it's trite to tell you not to cast too much of your valuable pearls before this stone swine.

I have a question for you.

When did you appoint yourself the decider of life purpose, aka necessity?
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@SteelHands Again, I said nothing resembling that. Where did I decide life's purpose?

If you're just going to launch strawman arguments against me all night,
1) that's pathetic, especially for someone your age; and
2) I really don't have the time or patience for that

Take time to actually read my words instead of interjecting your own feelings, and then come back to me once you've thought about it
SteelHands · 61-69, M
@TinyViolins Why deny what you're saying.

I read what you wrote.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@SteelHands You can't gaslight me, man. The proof is in the writing, so feel free to quote me if you want to plead your case.

If you want to spin my words into whatever axe you want to grind, that's not my problem. I'm not going to sit here and satisfy your moral superiority
SteelHands · 61-69, M
Now you want to gauge your moral standing with yourself and put me down?

Don't be absurd. In my failure to read you intuitively I must have completely missed the part where you said me and my offspring were not being generous enough, and putting an unnecessary burden on suicide threatening encouraging generosity like yours.

List exactly what I and mine owe this world that we haven't already done or shut your stupid Gerber ass mouth.
