So ? The rebel spirit is great , slavery is not .., no American believes it ever was . It is also the symbol of people fighting , dying , and ultimately triumphing over that despicable method of labor . However Muslims enslave millions around the world and I see no democrats denouncing it

Your whole comment is flawed. There certainly are many, many people that thought and think that black folks are inferior. And harken back to when they thought america was great.
The american flag is the symbol of triumph, not the confederate flag. To fly it isnt southern pride in the present. It is pride for the past. A past that was treasonous and abhorrent.

@Carla around the world, currently , Muslims have millions enslaved . Nothing flawed there , you just don’t like that fact exposing your liberal hypocrisy . Only libs complain about the past and want to revise history. The mistakes of our history are there for us to learn from ... not hide and blame on current day people ... otherwise democrats would need to be paying reparations for their misdeeds , especially concerning African Americans .

The confederate flag is nothing but a reminder of a horrible time. It is flown for the same reason confederate monuments were erected during the jim crow era. To remind blacks that they have a place. And that they should keep it.
And you do know that the democrat and republican stance on civil rights swapped, right? You can pretend that it it didnt, but you are just only fooling yourself, as everyone else knows better.
