So ? The rebel spirit is great , slavery is not .., no American believes it ever was . It is also the symbol of people fighting , dying , and ultimately triumphing over that despicable method of labor . However Muslims enslave millions around the world and I see no democrats denouncing it

And harken back to when they thought america was great. The american flag is the symbol of triumph, not the confederate flag. To fly it isnt southern pride in the present. It is pride for the past. A past that was treasonous and abhorrent.

Only libs complain about the past and want to revise history. The mistakes of our history are there for us to learn from ... not hide and blame on current day people ... otherwise democrats would need to be paying reparations for their misdeeds , especially concerning African Americans .

Shall we erect monuments to traitors from the other wars weve been involved in? There are many... you know, history and all.... The confederate flag is nothing but a reminder of a horrible time. It is flown for the same reason confederate monuments were erected during the jim crow era. To remind blacks that they have a place. And that they should keep it. And you do know that the democrat and republican stance on civil rights swapped, right? You can pretend that it it didnt, but you are just only fooling yourself, as everyone else knows better. And maybe we do need to pay reparations. To african american AND native americans. But we as a nation.
They've tried to get rid of it and replace it, but all attempts have failed, so far. Many cities refuse to fly it in Mississippi.

There have been proposals to change the flag in the past but they always get defeated. I want to say the last attempt it wasn't even close...like nearly 70% of voters opted to keep the flag as is. If the majority wanted to see it changed there are ways for it to be done....
@Stefan136 The Confederate flag was created and flown by a treasonous coalition of U.S. states, which separated from the rest in order to preserve the deeply-racist institution of western slavery. This coalition was defeated in what Americans refer to simply as The Civil War and slavery was abolished nationwide. Pro-slavery and pro-confederacy sentiment lived on in the ex-separatist states, which is why the rebel flag still sometimes flies to this day.
@NoSugarCoating No. I only know the language but I am not familiar with the history of US to that degree. But yeah considering what BlueVeins said, it's too bad. I personally don't like racism. There's never a good reason to insult someone just because their skin color is white, black or whatever. That's just the effect of living in different climatic conditions and genetics passing that property, that's all there is to it. What one should focus on is personality, because that can change.
@NoSugarCoating Why don't the black people riot about it then? 🤔 I always believed that if the majority has an issue with something, they should join together to complain about it and get it resolved.
