My problem is when pride is used for marketing and stuff , pride has lost is meaning in my opinion
calicuz · 51-55, M
@OfflineFriend

I know others that feel the same way.
Semya · 22-25, M
@OfflineFriend Personally I hate when some companies do that because it comes off as phony tbh

DunningKruger · 61-69, M
It's a conservative thing, I think. As a general rule, conservatives believe that life is a zero-sum game, meaning that one person or group cannot have something without someone or some other group losing something.
@DunningKruger That’s the best explanation I’ve seen yet.
@bijouxbroussard I agree. That’s an explanation that makes sense.
It’s probably because they’ve been shamed for being straight for so long. Finally they can be around others, straight like them, and for once be proud... of who they are. (Please add appropriate levels of sarcasm to this)

@DarkHeaven I'm so glad they can be in public with out shame. It must be hard for straight people to make it public with all the negativity mainstream puts on them.
@UserNameSW Not all society. Some believe it can be a woman and a man too but many people can still be judgmental about opposite sex stuff. Some day they’ll be truly accepted, I hope. ✌️

I am not sure they all are?
I have a gay nephew ... since I have a large family we grew up together as best friends
SW-User
@SW-User ultimately because they want gay people back in the closet
SW-User
@SW-User I seen how my nephew is now, happy fufilled, in a job he likes ...he's like a different person since accepting himself as he is ...the rest of it is his business
@SW-User You are good and kind. Not everyone is. 🖤🤗

Isn't pride one of the 7 deadly sins?
@JaggedLittlePill *giggles* Not beating me in Wrath, though. I’m still the angriest bitch. lol
@JaggedLittlePill Facts. 🖤🤗😘

I imagine it's because they don't want their children to grow up thinking that their identity should be based on one of the many different forms of an arousing, sexual desire which some choose to call 'gender'. I imagine that they would wish their children to focus on true love.

I just like rainbows on stuff
@SW-User Rainbows are nice. 😊

Just like the Black Lives Matter debacle...

The All Lives matter asshats cannot grasp that they are not a minority and that their human rights are not being threatened.

Straight white Christian or even non Christian dumbasses think that they need to have pride too because they have no clue what it is like to have their basic human rights held over their heads as if it were a privilege.
SW-User
because they don't understand what it's for and why it exists, and especially they don't understand why it's called "pride."
Soramarie · 26-30, F
Because it’s forced on them these days. I said I was strait and got yelled are phobic 🤦‍♀️
Soramarie · 26-30, F
My point of it being forced is if you’re straight you’re not in the in and you have to be afraid of LGBTQ because you aren't a member
@Soramarie That’s not true. There are plenty of straight allies and always have been. They’re only afraid if they’re homophobic to begin with.
Soramarie · 26-30, F
That was exactly my point LOL. But a lot of people don’t see it that way.

@fidra2 Being treated like shit by society for centuries.
@fidra2 Being called sexual “deviants” , for one thing. A pedophile, a rapist, someone who molests animals or the dead is a “sexual deviant”. Not an adult with another consenting adult.
Deadcutie · 18-21, F
Gay ones are too
calicuz · 51-55, M
@Deadcutie

that's true
I don't think until recently, straight people have been obsessed with "Pride", but if they have or are, there's nothing wrong with that as long as they do not try and impose those values on other who are not straight.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
Because that is who we are. People of pride. Are you straight. 🙂
calicuz · 51-55, M
@Zonuss

Yes, just asked because a lot of straight people post about pride.
I'm a bigger believer in dignity than in pride
