Do you think the word narcissist is thrown around too much?

Like do people use the term too loosely, or do you think we have an epidemic of young people with narcissistic personality disorder?

I think many have narcissistic traits which are perceived as being a narcissist. Understandable as either way it's best to avoid. The difference is those with the traits are able to change a true narcissist can not change, and it is extremely difficult to know which one they are.

@curiosi hi Curiosi mostly the narcissists are the people that do all the gossiping and judging , it's a way for them to get there kicks from there low self esteem . It gives them a false sense of self. Mostly what I noticed is that there insane people and have a lot of issues . They be taking there issues out you usually and goes for the most so called vulnerable or weakest person .
Both. The higher the pop the higher number of them. But it also is a buzzword now. Kind of like how OCD gets thrown around.

Now that everyone's a Google expert, all the psychological buzzwords are used too loosely.
More often than not, they're used incorrectly too.

As far as "narcissism" goes, you can find that in people of all ages.
Funny you should ask. That thought crossed my mind just yesterday. I looked it up and according to the article I read, about 1% of the population are true narcissists.

Yes and no. Being since there's different levels of narcissism, calling someone that may not be completely off base. We all start out as narcissistic beings or else we'd die.

As well as the word psychopath is thrown around loosely... Honestly, a lot of words that define a mental illness are thrown around loosely, and it’s upsetting.

A little narcissism is not disordered..we all have it in us..but when everything is always about u, that would qualify for disordered.
