They are talked about. Their country was taken from them and they were left with reservations. Is there something in particular you think should be talked about more?

@StevetheSleeve reparations, restitution, decolonization

@basilfawlty89 Restitution and decolonization in what form? It doesn’t seem workable at this point.

@StevetheSleeve either give back land or compensate financially for land loss. Promote Native culture and language, start teaching the Native perspective, not the eurocentric one.

@basilfawlty89 Some lands have been given back and tribal rights granted to others. Compensating for all the land is unrealistic. The native history is taught in a limited way. Overall, what has been done cannot be undone at this point.

@StevetheSleeve the crime of genocide has no statute of limitations.
StevetheSleeve · 31-35, M
@basilfawlty89 The world’s history is one of conquering and seizing. Sorting out those “genocides” and restoring things to their original order is too complicated and disruptive.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@StevetheSleeve so you deny it was genocide based on your quotation marks? War is not the same as genocide.
StevetheSleeve · 31-35, M
@basilfawlty89 There were some genocidal incidents but it was not a mass genocide.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@StevetheSleeve so you think that people profiting off it have no responsibility toward restitution?
StevetheSleeve · 31-35, M
@basilfawlty89 No. Sorry.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@StevetheSleeve typical, so just profit off theft and murder and let historical injustices just be ignored.

@basilfawlty89 The federal government spends about $20 billion a year on Native Americans.
