I believe they feel a massive disparity in living standards is just as dangerous. A 2017 study by economist Edward N. Wolff showed 1 percent of American households own 40 percent of the country's wealth. Is this the basis for a healthy society?
Sometimes life is about seeing a picture bigger than just yourself.

I never understood that concept either. 🤷‍♀️ Charity is nice but it’s still theft if the government steals *your* money.

yet, they do feel entitled...they're preaching it because of the lazy unmotivated slugs of society..

That's what communism was about and it ruined so many lives.

@Stereoguy I made this post because I was frustrated, just got out of an argument with someone that thinks I, who went through the rigour of studying Engineering for five years, should make the same money as some guy who learned to flip burgers for a few days.
You're completely right. If you look at it, nobody who's learned the essence of hard work to become successful advocates for forced redistribution of wealth. Only bitter people who are jealous of people richer than them.

the hardship of the less fortunate is important to consider
for our future
and the future of the people who come after us
the chain of humanity is as weak as the weakest link
we can build eachother up

@RooiSoosSkarlakenWitSoosSneeu yes, I understand, but nobody's entitled to my generosity. There's a difference.
@rickfreeman15 the generosity of spirit
when they think they are entitled to half your paycheck, just to turn around and give it to someone who refuses to work...... that's some straight up bullshit.

Doesn't the 5 richest people in the world possess more money then the half the population on the planet?

Imagine feeling like your hard work is worth 100X more than someone else's hard work. Imagine being born into wealth that allows you to barely work and live in luxury while people barely get by working 70 hour weeks over three jobs with no health benefits.
rickfreeman15 · 22-25, M
@ViciDraco it's nobody's fault that someone was born into wealth. But let's talk about the hard work their parents did- they spent thousands of hours to come up with an idea that could provide value for millions of people, then spent years implementing it till they were able to become wildly successful. On the other hand, some guy was trained to flip burgers for three days. And you think they should earn the same money? Naw.
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
@rickfreeman15 they don't deserve the same, but they don't deserve vastly different sums of money either. That inventor probably charged too much money or more likely underpaid the people who made his vision a reality in order to accrue such gross wealth. No man is worth 100x another man, even if you compare a surgeon to a burger flipper they both fill vital roles in society.

In fact, we should be working towards the abolishment of money and the adoption of a resource based economy. This way we don't have to be afraid of losing jobs to automation and can let people stop slaving at work.
