Why do some people get hostile when they've asked a question but don't like the answer they wanted?

Why did they ask in the first place if they didn't want to hear differing points of view. Beats me. 馃

I do not mind differing thoughts, opinions, beliefs and so on... what I don't like is when I ask a serious question and get smartass, rude, hateful, or even condescending answers that aren't really an opinion or belief in the first place. There is no call for that and I don't usually tolerate it (I will block someone or even just delete the entire post).

@indyjoe Everyone is entitled to their opinions and beliefs, of course, but I agree it's their way of delivering them that counts. Rude and personal attacks demonstrate a lack of argument/reason and say more about them.
