I support the idea

Ridiculous. Maybe ask for approval first. But if we live in a world where I can't say how adorable my nephew is because someone might say something wrong, that's ass backwards.

@uncalled4 videos of your nephew should not be public on YouTube. There are other places for parents to post videos for family.

@JaggedLittlePill Why not? I have had videos on YouTube for a while now, and never had a problem. I get alerted if there are comments.

@uncalled4 yes. You are an adult.

Did you miss the video posted on this same post discussing why the comments on videos containing children are disabled. If not do so.
The parents who put videos of their kids on YouTube do so with knowledge that there are pedophiles who
1) take the videos and use them improperly in pedophile groups
2) comment underneath with time stamps of moments within the video where the children are in "sexually stimulating" positions for other pedophiles to see

@JaggedLittlePill I don't have 20 minutes to watch a video right now. I don't have a particular dog in this race, either. But it seems like yet more censorship. No, of course I don't want to hear from pedos, but somehow I feel this creates a slippery slope.

@uncalled4 how is avoiding pedophiles commenting on children's videos censorship? Every website has an obligation by law to keep children safe online from inappropriate content. YouTube did so in the best way they could.

As well private companies don't follow the laws of the consitution they can censor anything on their website they want to.

@JaggedLittlePill It's avoiding everyone, unless I'm misunderstanding.
