Is it impolite to not respond to the answers you get to questions on here?

A friend of mine on here told me it’s impolite not to respond but I’m not really sure.

its polite to acknowledge ppl who took the time to answer your Q yes?

i just dont answer Qs of ppl who generally ignore me and others..
