why do many spread rumors and speculation as if they are fact , yet when called out they say “ I didn’t know it wasn’t true “

“ well did you know it was true “ usually after this then get emotional either start crying or get angry and say “ well every one was saying it “ over and over again

Rumors, gossiping it's like cutting open a down pillow and and dumping it out second story window. Even with no breeze you can't get all the feathers back.

@Pureblossom Actually it is a nice analogy. Not sure I like the meaning

@SW-User It just that, if you tell someone something, in that realm of spreading rumors, after you tell one person and they share it with another and so on. Its jyst a gutsy trade religion class story.
And have you ever sat in a group circle and the teacher whispers something to the first person and they in turn whisper to the next and so on. The last person then tells what was whispered to them. I've never heard the last person say exactly what was originally whispered to the first, or even near. Jay wondering. Those rumors change too. Am i missing the point of the question again?

@kentex35 Only PureBlossom can answer what she asked. I understand what you say where a conversation starts, in rumour, and ends up in a very different place. I try to not bother myself with misunderstandings, knowing they will happen, and the gossip tree can grow as it pleases.
