My son is autistic, and the most valuable, precious thing in my world.

Summerbreeze45 · 51-55, F
@tiggerandariel13 that's how my son gets. Hes 6.
PrivateHell · M
@Summerbreeze45 my son is 14, and falls just below the higher functioning spectrum.
tiggerandariel13 · 46-50, MVIP
@Summerbreeze45 she goes off on me her mom and her 11 year old sister is her target
Summerbreeze45 · 51-55, F
@PrivateHell was he initially diagnosed with autism? I'm afraid there's a lot more going on with my son than just adhd
Summerbreeze45 · 51-55, F
@tiggerandariel13 that's how Andrew is. I'm his main target though because I'm the disciplinarian. It's so hard somedays.
PrivateHell · M
@Summerbreeze45 the state I lived in wouldn't diagnose him until he was in the 2nd grade (which is stupid). But the doctors finally did. We had been trying to figure out what was going on with him since he was 2 years old.
Summerbreeze45 · 51-55, F
I'll m so sorry, that's usually the case. How is he doing now otherwise, socially, academically?
tiggerandariel13 · 46-50, MVIP
@Summerbreeze45 Katie my oldest think she is charge cause she's oldest her mom discipline her most of the time everytime she gets in trouble she blames Jordan my 11 year old
Summerbreeze45 · 51-55, F
@tiggerandariel13 yep, that's her target. And here I thought it would get easier as he grew older.
K9security · 31-35, M
My boy is low functioning autistic he is 15 but has the capacity of a 5 year old he has behavioral issues
PrivateHell · M
@Summerbreeze45 withdrawn socially, he refuses to interact with people. Academically I have him almost to the 8th grade level (where he should be for his age). I homeschool him because the school system gave up on teaching him, and we travel full time now.
Summerbreeze45 · 51-55, F
@K9security is he getting all the available services posdible? That will make all the difference when he turns 18. My friends son is the same. Hes now 27 and living a very productive, independent, happy life.
PrivateHell · M
@K9security mine is 14. He's emotionally on a 6 year old's level with behavior issues as well.
Summerbreeze45 · 51-55, F
@PrivateHell then it sounds like you are doing a great job with him at home
PrivateHell · M
@Summerbreeze45 I try.
RumorHasIt · F
My son is 20 and it does get easier..the early teens can be pretty brutal @Summerbreeze45
Summerbreeze45 · 51-55, F
@RumorHasIt thank you. I'm hoping all the services we have in place now will have a positive impact later on
