Global media axes more than 100 jobs
Independent radio in the UK is about to lose 100 broadcasters and axe several Breakfast shows.
Global Media which owns Capital. Heart. And Smooth radio made the announcement in an attempt to cut costs and still attract advertising revenue at the expense of cutting locally produced shows.
The three companies will effectively syndicate their shows across ILR stations thus negating local news and presenters.
73 stations are affected in total.
