Why do so many African Americans blame their problems on white people?

Every single American has the exact same privileges and opportunities to succeed whether you were born in the ghetto or in an upperclass neighborhood you're able to get education after high school. Is "white privilege" just an excuse that's used by unsuccessful, un motivated and under educated African Americans who have only a bad attitude keeping them down?

white people are the easy scapegoats atm. It is easier making excuses and playing victim compared to facing reality. I don't know about African Americans always saying it but whomever tries demeaning anyone of having white privilege is a moron imo

@PlumBerries Thats your white privilege talking.

I rest my case 🙄

@PlumBerries You have to have a case first before you can rest it. Try reading some history, We had Africans as slaves LONGER than they have been freed here in our country and MUCH longer than they have technically had the same rights as whites.

You really don't think that gives whites a leg up in many cases?

like I said whomever tries demeaning anyone of having white privilege is a moron.. you don't know me or anything I have had to go through. I have worked incredibly hard to get what I have now and will not let anyone try to discredit that in a attempt to say I have things easy because of my race.
Everyone who is legally a citizen in my country has the same benefits and rights. The only thing stopping others from getting what others have is laziness. People are not slaves anymore and need to stop using that as some excuse to hate a certain race

@PlumBerries I have fallen madly in love with you

@PlumBerries Ah here is the problem. You think your accomplishments are diminished when someone else faces hardships in their lives they have to overcome.

Everyone who is legally a citizen in my country has the same benefits and rights.

That is untrue. It may look that way to you, from your worldview, but I guarantee, a poor black girl born in the ghetto the same age as you, sees it very differently.

@PlumBerries This is actually a very good quick video that illustrates what I am talking about.

I would be curious to hear your thoughts on it.

from my worldview? again you know nothing about me. I am not even going to reply to you anymore. you proved my point though with my first comment here so thanks for that
Pherick · 41-45, M
@PlumBerries I am sorry that having a frank discussion about race and privilege upsets you so much. Take care.
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
no assuming you know everything about me because of my race is what annoys me.. bye
Pherick · 41-45, M
@PlumBerries I am making assumptions based on generalities. Do I KNOW all white people are one way? Do I KNOW all black people are one way? Of course not.

Your history in Australia is also very different than our history here in the US. You seem to be getting upset about something that may not even apply to you. I am just curious how you can say the kinds of things you do, without taking into account that not everyone had your upbringing or circumstances?
