In the US who do you think is more racist, White people or African Americans?

SW-User
I can't keep quiet about this one guys. If you are fed up, or sick of all this "race stuff", please know that you are exercising your white privilege right now.

People of color don't get the opportunity or privilege to ignore "race stuff". They have to live it every day. It has never been scary to live in the states as a white person. They have had the upper hand always. People of color however, don't have to look back too far in history to see that fear. And many still live it today.

And if this comment bothers you, you've got some mighty fine white fragility going on.
YoungGunner · 31-35, M
@SW-User You're an ignorant racist
Miram · 31-35, F
Lack of discrimination shouldn't be seen as a privilege. It's the default, it's the right. We should want people to have that right. They don't need to give it up so the minority achieves equality. Which means guilt tripping any group strictly for the color of their skin would be useless.

More than that, this doesn't reflect the complex reality of the situation in the US. I have seen racism from both sides. Lot of Africans, out of ignorance, are unable to understand I am an African, of a much ancient ethnic group and culture. A mother of an ex-friend of mine always hinted to me being descendant of colonialists.

I think the question itself is senseless.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@SW-User 👏👍️
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
Quite frankly, the fact that still feel the need to use a prefix to describe their ethnicity (African-American) denotes a racist disposition in itself...

As if it isn't enough to just be "American"

"We can have no '50-50' allegiance in this country. Either a man is an American and nothing else, or he is not an American at all." -Theodore Roosevelt
SouthernBoxer · 31-35, M
@wildbill83 THANK YOU!
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
tbh i'm so done with all this race crap now.

people just suck in general.
YoungGunner · 31-35, M
@Ryannnnnn

Not all people.
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
The one who keeps bringing up a person's race is racist. Whomever that happens to be.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
It's called being spontaneous @easterniowegin
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@easterniowegin spontaneity is the start of creation
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
Sorry @YoungGunner work on reading comprehension. I wasnt talking about simply being observant.
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
the million dollar question society & the media shy's away from when discussing slavery....

Who sold slaves to us to begin with?

oh yeah... Africans/blacks...🤔
YoungGunner · 31-35, M
@wildbill83 True.

Also, the largest Southern slave owner ever was a black man.
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@YoungGunner Anthony Johnson, also one of the first slave owners
SW-User
lmao really

YoungGunner · 31-35, M
@SW-User Bitches really out here looking fine as fuck
Marceline · F
the thing with white poeple is.. they always consider themself as the default "normal" people... i mean african american.. or asian americans is commonly used. why not european americans... i mean they are just as much immigrants as black people or asians and dont belong any more or less then others
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@Marceline Bingo. And that always use the excuse that they're proud of their heritage, hence the use of prefix.

I'm proud of my Heritage too, but I don't go around calling myself a Viking-Germanic-Scottish-Irish-Cherokee-American...🙄
YoungGunner · 31-35, M
@SouthernBoxer The real Americans are the Native Americans. The US stole their land, fucked them over and took their home away they had for thousands of years
SouthernBoxer · 31-35, M
@YoungGunner There is no such thing as "Native Americans". The Indians all came over from Asia. Besides, they were savages and doing nothing to further their people, culture, or the nation. Move other and let people do go. They can continue to be savages elsewhere.
SouthernBoxer · 31-35, M
Black people are incredibly more racist, on average.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@SouthernBoxer when was the last time you shook a black persons hand and showed them respect? They'd probably change their mind about you?
SouthernBoxer · 31-35, M
They are apprehensive to help themselves.
SouthernBoxer · 31-35, M
Only a matter of time before this happened. You getting off topic, trying to make it personal.
PrivatePeeks · 26-30, F
Judging from what I've experienced on SW... African Americans. Too much 'poor black me' and 'it's all whitey's fault'. An American thing I don't fully understand. Canadian blacks aren't like that. All American blacks aren't like that either. Just to be clear.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
I think whites go further with racism and blacks have more casual racists
White people, by far.
@YoungGunner You have a point, as well. I'm speaking from my own experience. Maybe it's just the neighborhoods I've lived in.
SW-User
@YoungGunner would you be so kind as to define your terms? Let's start with "ignorant foolish blacks".
YoungGunner · 31-35, M
@SW-User It can be whites too, don't get me wrong. It's not specific to blacks at all. It was an example of the blacks who are hateful and think whites are more privileged than them and given more opportunity than them (which everyone is given the same opportunity) and they're living off taxpayers and unwilling to get a better life for theirself, cause problems in society and choose to blame the white man for the problems they caused themselves. THIS IS NOT ONLY BLACKS. WHITES, HISPANICS, THIS CAN APPLY TO PEOPLE OF ANY RACE IN THE US, NOT JUST BLACKS
Imsleepy · 31-35
In my experience, black people are more racist.
YoungGunner · 31-35, M
@Imsleepy Agreed. Thats my observation/ experience also
Imsleepy · 31-35
@YoungGunner Especially here in the south. A lot do not even try to hide it.

I'm gonna say, white people for $1,000 Alex.
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]people in general in USA just seem racist. not all of course but everything has to be about race these days with them. And the ones who claim they are not racist or constantly demonise others as racist are normally bigger racists .. So sick of all this race stuff these last few years but I guess some like saying they are victims to racists and blame their misfortunes on their race[/c]
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]not in the long run. You blame others for your misfortunes all the time, you never learn from your own failures and will repeat them again[/c]
SouthernBoxer · 31-35, M
Exactly. They don't see that. It's all about what's easy right now, but it only hurts you and those like you in the future.
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]yep[/c]
SW-User
Everybody's racist. At least subconsciously, due to stereotypes.
YoungGunner · 31-35, M
@SW-User I disagree. A RACIST person is intolerant and hateful of a certain people who is different than them, which comes from their ignorance. You can think or say black people like watermelon and fried chicken or white people can't jump or Jews are money grubbing tightwads and not be a racist. Believing in racial stereotypes does not mean someone is racist by any means at all.
The media.. division is it’s bread n butter
Montanaman · M
Just asking a question like that seems racist, race shouldn't be an issue today, but sadly, it still haunts us.
Montanaman · M
@JovialPlutonian why does it have to be about race? We're all different, from different places, backgrounds, cultures,
But we're All human. Our blood is red. Color of skin is so trivial these days.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@Montanaman it's called generalising and people use it as a broad why of understanding a culture. He's not being specific.
Montanaman · M
@JovialPlutonian but why stir the pot with a question like that... playing with a loaded gun. The question in itself, generates hate, ignorance, and indifference.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
I don't think either is more racist than the other. That being said it is much easier for an African American racist to be socially accepted than a white racist of equal venom.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@bijouxbroussard 👋😂
SW-User
It depends. There are Black and White people who are, there are others who aren't
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
The only stupid questions are the unasked ones :)

@wildbill83 Preach.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
This is the issue with multiple nations, they could never agree. We need one nation!!!
SW-User
@JovialPlutonian I dont get it. We have one nation. What do you mean?
SouthernBoxer · 31-35, M
@JovialPlutonian Pfffft, your true colors are really shining through now.

I think everyone is racist.
USA particularly so.
YoungGunner · 31-35, M
@SW-User

I'm not racist, If someone is not a decent person, foolish, lazy, ignorant, etc, then I don't like you. It has everything to do with good morals and character, not skin color.
SW-User
@YoungGunner I did not say you personally.

But all these race issues do seem to permeate USA quite heavily.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
I think whites are better at being racist. Is that racist?
SW-User
Nearly everyone is a tad racist at least.
