Yes, did. They are long gone. We were closely monitored. Beaten a lot. That is the way my dad was raised. Might was right. I wasn't allowed to stay out late. I was to come home after extra-curricular activities. Friends were discouraged. I wasn't allowed to date until age nineteen. No driving. Homework came first. Respectful behaviour or consequences. It taught me a lot and when I finally left home, I was grateful for freedom.

My parents have always been a little strict, but not too much. It's more the overprotective kind of strict than the domineering/ogre type.

I dunno. My dad was kinda strict but that wasn't really on purpose, he was just an asshole.
