No. It's cheaper to help their countries prosper so they don't come in the first place.

@WindOfAdolf The first thing you do is end the "war on drugs" and start treating the issue as a domestic public health problem, rather than a foreign military war. Then the cartels have no money.

Second, you stem the flow of American guns to central America, so the cartels aren't so well armed.

Third, you encourage free trade, within central America, and between central and North America. Movement of goods is a substitute for the movement of people.

There are other things we can do too that will help on the margin and are more cost effective than a wall.

But it would be easier for them to help themselves if [i]our[/i] drug problems and [i]our[/i] gun issues weren't having such a huge negative impact on [i]them[/i].
