Are Youtube "Stars" a real thing?

I went on Youtube and watched some Youtube 'Stars' - PewDiePie, KSI, Logan Paul. i didn't enjoy watching their content - maybe i'm too old? idk. Are these people considered legitimate entertainers?

It's not a matter of whether or not they are "legitimate", but whether they make enough money doing what they're doing. They do.

There are a few YouTubers that I watch, but they're more aimed at around my age group.

@DDonde any you would recommend? Casey Neistat is interesting to watch..

@tenente I personally enjoy Northernlion, but I'm not sure I would recommend him out of the blue.
