What are imaginary friends like?

I just watched a video saying that as many as 65% of children had an imaginary friend by the time they were 7.
To me that sounds unreal. How does that work? How do you have an imaginary friend? Do you actually see somebody in front of you?

I kind of had an imaginary lover when I was 5-6 but it was more like I dreamed about being in love with someone all grown up and I used to reinact if re live the dream and conversation in the waking world. I had quite an imagination as a kid lol.

@SW-User Sounds a bit like lucid dreaming. Could've it been that? Or was it for real?

Well funny you mentioned that because when I was 4 I had a close call with death from being bitten by a snake and I did have an out of body experience, just the memory of it became clearer when I got older, after the bite I felt heat through my body then everything went well dark with rays of bright colours then some ladylike hands grabbed mine and let go then as she let go I woke up in a bed with tubes down my throat. Found out my heart stopped for nearly 90 seconds when I was in hospital. I think there’s a connection with that mayb?@Dan193

@SW-User Maybe, could be. Though your out of body story is fascinating.

It was my first but definitely not last lol. @Dan193

@SW-User Were they random or you can control them?

I had other near death experiences that have similar encounters, but never got the hands again, but nearly 2 months back I was in a car and a motorbike narrowly missed stacking which could of ended him going over the bonnet and killing me and the driver of the car and as the motorbike flew through that tight gap against us and the other car, I visualised the bike hitting us then had a light beam outline of a friends face who died in a motorbike accident for one second right in front of my closed eyelids, then I snapped back to reality. @Dan193

@SW-User Well I'm glad you're alive. But did you ever find yourself thinking, that you wish you'd get another close call, seconds from death moment, in order to trigger those out of body experiences again?
SW-User
There’s always DMT and Ayahuasca lol. I had those and they do the similar thing, not as intense as the out of body experiences, but like the on-ramp onto one @Dan193

@SW-User I see.
