What are imaginary friends like?

I just watched a video saying that as many as 65% of children had an imaginary friend by the time they were 7.
To me that sounds unreal. How does that work? How do you have an imaginary friend? Do you actually see somebody in front of you?

@Dan193 could be, but my imagination,is pretty powerful in other areas as well. Part of the reason,I am working on being a writer
