What are imaginary friends like?

I just watched a video saying that as many as 65% of children had an imaginary friend by the time they were 7.
To me that sounds unreal. How does that work? How do you have an imaginary friend? Do you actually see somebody in front of you?

The only problem with them is that when we talk they always seem to be a bit out of touch with reality. 🤷‍♂️

@Riverman Are you being serious? or you were just trying to make a pun?

@Riverman Well I'm clueless about how imaginary friends work, that's why I asked the question. Don't get frustrated on me. It seemed like a plausible thought to me.

@Dan193 I meant it as a pun. However, it would not be a funny thing at all if someone started thinking their imaginary friends were real. They would need some help.

@Riverman Yeah, true.
