Do hackers normally contact you to tell you you've been hacked?

馃槀 so I had a few odd messages on hangouts last summer and now again on Hotmail where he is saying how he hacked me, demanding bit coin, very upset I don't remember him. I mean why would I remember someone who used a faked up hangouts account 馃し. (Just to say I only replied to a message because I thought it was my friend and it wasn't) .

Just feels like he's a baby in a cot throwing his toys out the pram 馃槀. Apparently we also spell messenger as "messanger" . The spelling is really rather bad and so sloppy 馃槀. He's made it obvious he wants contact but I just can't be bothered for a Hackathon 馃し. That and the emails are just hilarious 馃槀

I had a couple of those, saying he had my passwords and threatening to publish videos of me watching porn if I didn't pay up in bitcoin. I just ignored them....

@Silentangel Good for you. I think though that the scum who try blackmail aren't reckoning on simple nudity but guilty conciences about the nature of the porn any of us might have been watching & wanking to ;-)

@ArtieKat good reminder to back everything up - in case you ever do get legitimately hacked with ransomeware...

@tenente Absolutely. I changed computers recently and because I've got pretty much everything stored on different cloud platforms it was painless.

@nedkellyyeah apparently I was in America last night 馃槀 if only!
It's the latest "easy pickings" rage amongst idiots who don't know better than to send out stupid emails, trying to earn an income.

Delete and ignore.

@SWisGoingWoke yeah, I'm like o don't even know what bit coin is lmao 馃槀. Honestly. He did find some old colourful nsfw photos of me my ex put up of me online months ago. He actually compliments them! That's the creepier part 馃憖

It's generally a scam, although as the internet develops, I do think privacy attacks will increase.
Silentangel26-30, F
@GlassDog it's just a nuisance really I get one every end of the month and the money goes up 馃槀
You still use hotmail?
Silentangel26-30, F
@LesserUgly sadly yes because I use Windows 馃檮 I don't use the email system itself it's just for my pc account xD
@Silentangel lol. Whatever floats your boat.
Silentangel26-30, F
@LesserUgly I don't even use it for anything xD I use Gmail it's easier xD

real hacker would lock you out with a ransomware screen - the plebeian emailing you probably bought some old plaintext password stolen from an decrepit website with unencrypted data that's sold on the darkweb. anyways, totally fake - report it and delete it...
