I think a really good parent should, at the very least, know how to model good behavior.
For example, you don't want to see, (as a child) a mother who shows you that laziness is smart, and demonstrates a hair trigger temper. You want parents who won't just verbalize what you should do and how you should behave, but will show you with all of their actions.
At the very least, if a parent knows he or she is falling down on the job, they need to send you to Sunday school so that you can learn good morals there.
