When did you first use the internet?

@firefall Our first modem was a fabulously expensive 1200 bps one that my dad bought as part of one grant or another, but I only used it for BBSes and Usenet. I didn't really get access to the Internet until I first went to university in 1990, but I was using it sporadically before and had netnews and email from Usenet.

@Northwest I started with 1200 bps, but I remember the 300s because they were the cheap obsolete ones by that time.

@SW-User I'm old :-) But I did participate in the development of the networking protocols.

@abe182 lol I remember those, that was when the phone company wouldn't let you hardwire anything that didn't come from them.
