I dunno. The opinion of others helps with the day to day interaction.

@Rokasu: in what way..you shouldn't need others to validate you as a person..

@Primnproper: It all boils down to who you want to be and how you want to be. Validating yourself could mean you understand and interact with other people in a way their opinions matter.

I value other people's opinions but not particularly of me..I conduct myself in a respectful, compassionate and fair way with everyone I come into contact with..that allows me to look myself in the mirror at the end of the day and know I've been a decent human being, that's all the validation I need..

I value everyone's opinion at the discretion of how honest I believe they are. As with you, I know I'm a compassionate, moral person. The difference being my mirror is the hearts of the people whose lives I make a difference in.

@Rokasu: that's using others to validate you as a person and that's fine if you need that but I don't..I have faith in myself and my abilities and i see the results for myself..Yes I feel happy when there's a success story but for some it's not that simple and in my profession you learn you can't save and help everybody, that's not down to me as a person sometimes their just not open enough or ready to let that help in..but I respect your opinion..
