馃槀 Old people can be VERY rapacious at the grocery store. Just as a shopper, I have seen them hit the sample lady four or five times, till they are told they can't have any more because the sample lady needs her cooked samples for other customers. I have seen them stand there eating grapes, and just once I saw an old woman open a box of cookies and shove some in her mouth before putting the box back. She must have been a diabetic cheater living with her adult children...馃お

@Girlbehindthecurtain Old people can also be living on their social security, and struggling to feed themselves. They can also be very cranky and nasty.
I used to belong to a singles group and I was the hospitality hostess. I put out a spread every week, with coffee and soda, cheese and crackers and pepperoni and lots of other goodies.
We had this one nasty old lady in our group who used to get massively pissed off at an old man who would arrive and, basically, have his dinner without paying his dues. It was both funny and sad.
I guess if I were giving out free samples, I would check to see if the elderly person was a big fatty, or skinny and pathetic looking before I pegged them as just an ahole. AND you can put out a little sign, "Limit two samples per customer".
