The IRS never calls.Nor do they come to your home or place of business unless they have a warrant to either arrest you and/or seize any records pertaining to their investigations as outlined in their warrant. This will be carried out by IRS federal agents. If no warrants are involved, they simply send you official correspondence of their findings pertaining to any omissions, discrepancies, irregularities, nonpayment of taxes etc. and how they intend to proceed against you along with giving you a limited timeframe to reply plus the opportunity to schedule an interview at your local IRS office, but never simply ignore any IRS official correspondence.Take care!
