Remember Grace Kelly? Former actress who married a prince? Three kids...all royalty...and none of them abdicated, either. She became a princess when she married.

@MaryJanine Really lifted up Monaco's profile too.

Glad you agree. I was much younger than she was, but I admired her in both roles - actress then princess.

@MaryJanine I do agree.Saw her in 2 films too.She was gorgeous.

That she was. I believe both she and her husband have now passed, and her son became the next prince and ruler in Monaco. His wife (if he has one) will be the next princess...but there will never be another Grace Kelly.

@MaryJanine She was killed in a car crash,rumour has it her daughter was driving.

Comes back to me now...I seem to remember when it happened...yes, I recall when it made the papers. But I forgot the fact that they said her daughter was driving. Well, they drive fast over there, too. I have a friend on SW in Germany who sent me a picture of a blurred car on the Autobahn - and he said it was close to 200-plus MPH! We could never do that in America - if you are doing 70 or over on the Interstate, you are certain to get pulled over for speeding.

@MaryJanine The speed limit is 70mph here in England on our motorways.Off the motorways it can be as low as 30mph.There are lots of speed cameras.I know that Germany has those fast Autobahns.I would love to try them out.

I think I'd be afraid to. Maybe if I LIVED over there, I'd be accustomed to it - but when somebody else I'm in a car with drives super-fast in America, then there are so many car crashes. So many people are on their electronic devices (although it's against the law) and their automated voice-activated dashboards (my one brother has one) that they're not paying attention to what they're doing and they blow the lights or stop signs.

@MaryJanine Nice to hear using devices is against the law.It is here as well and is a licence loser.I love driving fast.Some exceed their own or their car's limits and end up killing themselves and others.

I didn't KNOW my brother had one of those voice-activated dashboards. I found out when I got into the car after not being in it for awhile and he decided to use it to contact his wife in HERS. I was nervous the whole time. Oh well..wait until I get and install my mailbox signal out front...I'll be one up on him. (You put a battery-operated device in your slot or box, and the control it's attached to is wireless. When anybody lifts the lid of your box or puts anything in the slot, the device beeps four times and the little light on the top glows red.) It's a pain to have to guess when the mailman's been here. With this, I can stay inside without having to go out five or six times a day to check.
