In 1968 or 69, my grandmother was talking to Lyndon Johnson. She was a big democrat lady, and she told me that she told him of her grandson, me,that was draft eligible. She said he cried about sending young men to Vietnam to die. He didn't have a choice in it, we were getting in too deep to pull out.
That's when my wife and I decided to become anti Vietnam war protesters. We weren't anti-American, we were against sending guys there for no reason but to die. I had already lost three friends there. We marched in peace marches alongside veterans against the war.
After we got out of Vietnam, we all had ideas the government would change. It didnt. Politics is what runs our government, not we the people. It's the green, money, that rules us. Those with the money can buy anything practically. The people in this country have fought the wars, paid the taxes, and all we have done is make the rich richer. We could change the government but we dont. How can we when money put the two imbiciles we are to vote for in place. And how many rich people would change a system that is steadily putting more money in their pile.
It won't change until a huge majority of people start voting for the nobodies that really want to change the system and I don't see that happening. Your genation and the one under you are now fightin and dying in the middle east. Is anyone saying stop. No. Your friends may die there. Change has to come from the people. Until the fat money lords in this country are voted down, nothing will change. You will be 67 and still see government as usual.
