What advice would you give to somebody that wants to get a puppy?

Taking care of a pet is like taking care of a child. If you like freedom, I don't suggest it. If you can only feed yourself at the end of the week and stay broke all the time, I suggest you leave the idea alone.
Where you go, you now have to ask yourself what will you do the new pet.
