School bus hurtling down the highway. (Getting changed into uniform for a marching band show was weird)

@FaeLuna What was your instrument?
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@CountScrofula Alto saxophone for the outdoor marching band, but in the indoor drumline, I played marimba.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@FaeLuna Nice. I'm a trombone player. Literally writing trombone music as we talk.

@FaeLuna I play alto sax, too. For marching season, at least. For concert band, I played violin.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@SW-User Nice! I always wanted to learn a string instrument. So easy to just pick up and play (as opposed to a sax that needs to be assembled), and they sound beautiful.

@CountScrofula Do you write professionally, or just for fun? I've always found writing music to be very difficult.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SW-User Aw your band had violins. My high school concert band was in a sorry state by the time I graduated and was dismantled shortly thereafter. Marching bands just aren't a thing in Canada.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@FaeLuna I have a band which is like, bluegrass with a horn section. It's very basic stuff right now because - as you say - it's super difficult to write music. So just for fun. My profession is a bureaucrat in a university IT department.

@CountScrofula That's even more impressive that you write for fun. I have trouble finding the time to play, let alone write!
Sharethegra · 26-30, M
@FaeLuna yeah done that, always awkward when you stop and you just see the people beside you looking at you like "what the hell"
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@Sharethegra Exactly! I usually used the window as a makeshift coatrack, and the garment bag would end up covering the window. But the times that I didn't, I just smiled and waved, and they usually just looked away, embarrassed.

It wasn't like I was getting totally undressed either, just putting on a bunch of weird layers.
Sharethegra · 26-30, M
@FaeLuna yeah once I was standing up trying to put on shorts back to the window and out of the corner of my eye I saw something, looked over my shoulder and this woman was just looking right at me standing there, bum pressed to the window, in my underwear. All i could really do was smile and continue
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@Sharethegra Yeah, not much you can do at that point.
