What advice do you give your daughter on her 16th birthday ?

I'd let her know that the decisions she makes now can impact her for the rest of her life. Obviously, 16 year old's have a hard time grasping life decades down the road. But I'd work hard to let her know that the roads that are now opening up now will lead her on the path to her future. If she wants a good future she better choose wisely (responsibility about school, career, money, friends, drugs/alcohol and sex).
