will a heroin user ever normal as he was before after quitting the it???

i recently discovered that my brother does heroin.. he acts weird, has no job, no college and when i talk with him he talks as if everything is fine.. my mom has been crying her eyes out since learning it.. he won't talk anyone in the family now... is it possible for him to be normal if he goes into rehab???

It isn't a question of if he can be normal if he kicks it, of course people can go back to being healthy productive people if they get off the drugs.

The question is, will he get off the heroin? If he gets off it, will he manage to stay off it? He will always be addicted. But he can, if he chooses, stay away from it. With the right motivation and determination and moral support, he can, but he has to really want to.
