will a heroin user ever normal as he was before after quitting the it???

i recently discovered that my brother does heroin.. he acts weird, has no job, no college and when i talk with him he talks as if everything is fine.. my mom has been crying her eyes out since learning it.. he won't talk anyone in the family now... is it possible for him to be normal if he goes into rehab???

He can get clean. I've loads of friends who have. Actually coming off is easier than alcohol, heroin withdrawal never kills unlike alcohol withdrawal. However he'll change he'll have to to survive clean. At least that's my experience
