I have Googled my name and have been horrified with the information that I could easily find. Since Americans do not have the right to be forgotten, a simple reverse image search will give anyone here access to all the same information.

Anonymity is important, especially when people search media to mine information about someone else. I do not see the need to verify when answering questions, or even chatting on a site, since it's a different experience than real life encounters.

Verification is VOLUNTARY, not required. The application process is non-intrusive, it's not like you're filling out your full name, ssn, address, etc. and the verification photo is private.

Verify or not, that's your choice.

But don't be a hypocrite and accuse other users of being fake/catfish/etc. if you yourselves aren't verified; as MANY people do constantly on here...

I’m 50/50 about it, only if I know more a out what they will do with my identity and privacy, like someone could google my pic and find me here, because a lot of what I share is what I keep to myself especially my secrets and thoughts, no one in my real life knows a lot of my experiences and I would like to keep it that way.
