UK people, what's a good time to ring a stranger in the evening?

I have to call someone I don't know but I don't want to interrupt them eating

It's always best when they're asleep. But always ring twice. The first time, just to wake them up and the second to quickly slam down the phone when they answer!

@Jm31xxx Oh, if you wish to do that, ring a third time - about ten minutes after the second; gives them time to snuggle under the bed clothes again and be comfortable!

@EugenieLaBorgia good idea! In fact I'll take it to the next level. I'll find their house (which will demonstrate my resourcefulness) and climb a ladder and knock on their bedroom window!
