My wife and I have no children, so obviously SO comes first. But here is how we both feel about it if we did...Obviously the child takes a high priority and in most circumstances comes first, but too often the SO and their relationship gets pushed too far back and down on the priority list and that's not good. There is a reason for the wedding to include "let NOTHING come between you", and yes that includes even your kids. They will eventually grow up and move on with lives of their own, and sadly there are a lot of divorces that take place not long afterward because the couple have spent the entire time totally nurturing and focusing on the kids but not each other and their relationship...then there is just not much there ( many times nothing at all), the "empty nest" truly is empty. That's why we believe that if we had chosen to have children, they would be a very high priority for both of us...but we would have not neglected to give high priority to our marriage and relationship as well. No it wouldn't be easy to do at all because kids demand so much of us, but as they say anything worth having is never easy.

@indyjoe but now you leave behind no legacy...

@ScarletWitch Leaving behind a legacy was never of much importance to us. There are a lot of factors involved in our decision not to have children (too many to mention now due to time restrictions), but legacy was not one of them.🤠

Children come first. They are naturally weak and need care and protection.

If I had a child, the kid by a mile.
Depends if I am married
