Why are fast food and retail workers uniforms so ugly and embarassing looking?

I feel bad for them having to wear those awful clothes. So brightly colored and tacky. Horrible vests and khakis. Yucky polos.

Those folk are well worthy of your respect.
Customer service sucks as a job add to that poor pay and the clown outfit and you have all the things wrong with it.
