Depends on the situation. In 33 years I cried three times, all when I received news someone had died. One of those occasions it was my own husband and child.

@bijouxbroussard You're right, that is situational. I had a coworker tell us all week she would meet her deadline. On Friday, she had nothing. She crawled under her desk and cried.

I always ask if they are ok and if they want to talk about it. Of course, I do that for anyone, not just female co-workers. Though, female co-workers are easier to do that with.
I’m a poor person to ask about this. As a musician tears can almost be part of the performance. I haven’t had a regular job since high school days.

Bad position to be in. That becomes a personal issue. You could be being baited into drama that could end your career. I no longer get involved on that level.
