Omg guys I just found out I'm a noble

My dad was tracing back our family and there was a ton of "sirs" and "earls" way back in the 1300s and 1400s in England and Ireland on my mom's side of the family. Mainly in Ireland.

I don't want to spoil the moment... I mean, it's great to trace your genealogy and know your family history. The thing though is that the population of England was so small back then, that if you go back that far... like more than three or four centuries... you'll find that most of the people in the UK will be descendants of one noble family or the other. Like I said though, it's still great to know your genetic roots and find out the stories. But unfortunately, the hereditary connection to nobility and royals is very common in that part of the world.

@JellOFromHellO it's still pretty cool though I thought I just came from peasants

@Addictedtoglamour It does make for a more interesting story to trace. With nobility you'll find more written records and documents so better chances of knowing the details of your ancestors. 🙂
Nice... My grandmother's distant ancestor was a king in France (not joking)

I found that out too, though I am not 100% sure it is verified, and even if it is I would guess we are a bastard offspring line.

I thought Earldoms weren't hereditary.
