Do money buy happiness?

butterfly1013 · 26-30, F
I mean it can be thrilling at first for some people I'm sure, but at the end they become lonely, bitter and unhappy. Sure it may be able to buy happiness, but not for long.
It buys happiness if you use it for prostitutes, liquor, and smokes. Other than that, no.

It can buy you things and things can give you a sense of security, and a sense of comfort and contentment...but it can also take away a lot of the things that bring you true happiness. Riches don't necessarily equal happiness.

You're right, it can give you a false sense of security

@indyjoe I agree...I have had friends who were obscenely rich and they were NOT happy people...they couldn't trust anyone...they could not relax...but they sure felt financially secure

[c=#666666]To a certain extend yes. There has been many studies on this, when you exceed a certain amount of money, there will no longer be a difference, I forgot the number, but you can research it yourself. (:[/c]

@TheEldersnout interesting, can you provide link?

[c=#666666]@LittleCreates I don't have any at hand sorry, it's quite a while since I researched this myself. Interesting topic indeed though.[/c]
No. It can buy you things / or other person things. But having a ton of money all the money in the world even. In the end and in grand scheme of things. Will not make you truly happy and 100% content with your own self (Soul wise inside)

@TickleTortureYouUntilTears you can also throw money at people too. Jesus did It, you should try it sometime.

It can help.

it buys security...which is one step closer to happiness!
Not strictly speaking. But one can be miserable in considerably more comfort and security. 😏
