why is it that sometimes i try to copy and past

a picture and instead I get an extremely long list of letters and symbols? and how can I erase that in one shot instead of backspace line after line for 20 minutes?

@abe182 oh, great thanks, I just figured out the highlighting part, so if I wanted to erase it I would then press the delete button on my keyboard? (sorry , I don't want you to waste your time)

@reflectingmonkey you're fine. Yes press the delete button, or right click (right button) and you can choose cut copy or paste.

i assume you don't mean mobile cntrl+a if you're on a PC and ⌘+a if you're on a mac

No problem. I shoulda mentioned control and a are to highlight everything at once, backspace or space will delete it.
