Why is there racism against black people?

I mean if you think about it
You could have been black too

Racism against black people probably arose from the European perspective that Africa was uncivilized compared to European society. From there it turned into viewing Africans as sub-human, which justified slavery and general hatred of them.
@SW-User And European arrogance and feelings of superiority and entitlement towards anyone not them.

@SW-User it's funny you mentioned Europeans considering us mentally inferior but much like the native Americans we were the first doctor's of the world given the fact our lands bared so much fruit, veg and herbs/spices. Which even today Europeans are only just cottoning on to and incorporating into their "medicines"
