Yeah. Reminds me of Star Trek, where Quark is giving Nog a lesson on humans. "They're the most peaceful, lovely people as long as their bellies are full and their holodecks are on. But take those same, lovely people and take away their creature comforts, and they become as vicious as the most blood thirsty Klingon."

@Tatsumi during the siege of Rome, and I'm sure there have been other occasions, when people run out of food they literally lose all their humanity and will kill and eat each other to survive.
