Why do people put where they are on Facebook?

Sometimes it's bragging, sometimes it's to pretend like things are better than they are, sometimes it's just to memorialize an event or place for themselves. Could be a lot of reasons.

Because pics or it didn't happen? 😂 I don't know, people like attention. I've never played into it unless I'm somewhere cool I want Facebook to remind me of in a few years.

I know what you mean. Sometimes people are so focused on posting that it becomes the main focus. Let me show everyone how much fun I’m having instead of actually having fun. However sometimes I post vacay pics while still on vacay when I’m not doing anything else, ie. using the bathroom. Doesn’t really take away from anything

Or post all their medical drama on FB for the entire world to see. Jut checked into the ER....

At this point, I wonder why Facebook at all? Such an invasion of privacy. Then you have the people posting their every bowel movement. 😳

If I did that mine would just constantly say I’m at my house.

It's this horrible trend that people have in narrating their own lives!!

Because people like to brag

on a related not, why do people get upset when facebook gathers a person's information - when they've posted it for the world to see?

People are so insecure about their lives that they need to push it down everyone's throat, and everyone responds so they don't appear rude.

Facebook is a cancer and I genuinely hope it dies.
