Is it possible to move somewhere else and maybe build up from there?

It is so very possible although harder than it used to be.

Do some research and find the cheapest place to live within reach by car to where you want to be.

It would be great to have at least six months' living expenses before you take the leap.

Check out the the job market based against your resume before you go.

If necessary, take a job you don't want if you have to. Your first priority is to survive.

Have a car that works or a destination with great mass transit but even then check to see when and where to the buses, train or subways run.

Buy monthly or yearly passes. When you get a pass, take a clear pic with your phone, and if your habit is to carry your phone when you're carrying the pass, print out the photo and/or upload it to your computer so if it's lost, you can prove you did so pay for one and get it replaced.

Let your landlord know you would be happy to paint apartments or serve as night sup for a rent consideration.

Make your own coffee and sandwiches and don't eat out.

Its always possible.
Thanks for BA. Guess I don't have to spell it out that I've done it. It is entirely doable. Most things are doable, you just have to want it bad enough.

Yes. If you have money or a good job that makes it easy to earn income, it is easier to move and build up.
Yeah, but it's a bitch to pay for it.
